Stone Mason

A Stone Mason is responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, finishing, and installing natural stone (e.g., marble, travertine, granite) in line with drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role involves both workshop fabrication and on-site installation, with a strong focus on workmanship, safety, and meeting project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and site measurements
- Measure, mark out, cut, and shape stone to required dimensions (mitres, chamfers, grooves, drillings, etc.)
- Carry out surface finishing as required (honed, polished, brushed, sandblasted, tumbled/aged, etc.)
Requirements
- Proven experience in stone masonry (workshop and/or site)
- Strong measurement and setting-out skills; confident using spirit levels, lasers, squares, and templates
- Good attention to detail and a high standard of finish
